Plot and setting
- A tormented protagonist: Dr. Jonathan Reid, a renowned surgeon, returns home to London after World War I in 1918. The city is ravaged by the Spanish Flu pandemic and a mysterious supernatural plague.
- A conflicted fate: Upon his return, Jonathan is attacked and turned into a vampire. He is torn between his Hippocratic Oath and his thirst for human blood.
- A shadowy London: The game's version of early 20th-century London is a dark and atmospheric semi-open world. The streets are filled with disease, violence, and supernatural creatures, including other vampires and vampire hunters.
